We've been reading all sorts of books. One of his favorites is called "Baby Happy, Baby Sad" and it deals with things that make you happy or sad (duh, right? The title says it all). Well, Garrett will now say "Baby Happy" whenever he's doing something he enjoys. Another new phrase is, "mommy, hold you." This is when he needs some Mommy love or a quick hug. Another fun time is just after we do bath and story time, he calls in "nuggles" which is toddler for "snuggles". It's a special time before he goes to bed...we sing, are generally silly, etc.
He's recently become obsessed with the Disney Pixar movie Wall-E. I bought him a Wall-E toothbrush and wow has that made a difference and bedtime! Potty training has not progressed any further, but I'm just taking his lead and we are stationary. Oh, well. He will get there. He's still into clocks and watches, in fact, we have to visit the clock section of what ever store we may be in. He uses anything and everything to make mountains or forts. He will stack every pillow in the house on the couch and will climb up it and jump off of it. He's all boy!!
I've tarted to sew more often and Garrett finds it fascinating. The shiny things that cut and machines that makes noise. He's all about it. One day he said, "mommy, teach me! Teach me, mommy!" As my heart was melting I showed him how to cut and how the machine uses the ouchie needle. So yesterday (after turning back for literally one second) I find that he has taken the scissors to a project I'm making someone. Yikes!! If I'm looking for the silver lining, the line was straight and he was able to use them correctly. Yeah, it's a long shot but I was able to salvage the project. Note to self: put scissors in a really super safe place!
So that's what's been going on here. I'll post some pictures soon. :)
