Cereal and boxes that bite

Is our boy so big that it's time to be spoon-fed?! Yes, alas, it is. Today was our first shot at cereal (with b-milk). It was..messy, at best. He tried and I think he did a great job.

The little red mark on his face was the result of a rogue Lean Cuisine box that decided to slide off the grocery cart and bite him on the cheek. I'll have to be more careful about those next time!! We can't wait for Erik to come home...SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!

Lately...

We haven't up to too much lately, although, Garrett is doing something new practically everyday. Today (25Apr08) he started to grab his feet and also decided to boycott bedtime. He's also starting to grab at and look at everything. My daily bowl of oatmeal is no longer safe or anything else within reach for that matter! He's also on the road to sitting up unassisted...he's growing up so fast! Erik will be with us in a matter of days and I just can't hardly believe it! I look forward to posting pictures with the three of us shortly. This week Garrett is 4mo and 2wks.

Little man

This is another one of Garrett's favorites - his giraffe. He looks like a sphinx in the first picture, with the giraffe on his head! Garrett ran a fever on Friday and it came back today...poor little guy! Hopefully he'll start to feel better soon!! 

Monday...

Here's our little man on this beautiful Monday. Please excuse my lack of 'put-togetherness'. He's been a little fussy today so I wasn't able to get glammed for our photo-op. We are counting down the days!!!!

The past 2 days...

Little man had a fever on Thursday and Friday, but he's feeling much better now. He sure knows how to give his mommy a scare! These pictures are from the past two days...some in his crib and the other with a special message to Erik - "My Dadda is #1!"

A day at the doctors

No pictures today. We got home late from Columbia and practically had Garrett in bed as soon as we got in. Good reports all around, but our poor little guy has his first ear infection. And I wouldn't have known if the doctor hadn't REALLY looked in his ears. He also got the second round of his shots. He cried more with the digging around in the ears than he did with the shots. Garrett weighed a little more than 16 pounds and measured just over 25 inches (although I measured him at 26). So he's right on track!

Garrett's BFF

Here's Garrett and his BFF (best friend forever), mr. turtle. He loves, loves, loves his turtle. I bought this because I didn't think I was stimulating his mind enough (I'm psycho, yes). mr. turtle is colorful, makes different noises and even has a mirrored belly. Lots of fun. Garrett likes to chew on mr. turtle's feet.

I may not get a chance to post any pictures tomorrow, we have appointments in Columbia most of the day. But I'll try. ;)

To quote Erik..."we have eleven days and a wake up!"

Clean baby

More bath time pictures! Here he is fresh out of the bath and in his airplane pjs. Erik, I know how much you're looking forward to bath and bed time with our little guy! You'll love it!! We miss and love you so very much!!

Naked baby...well, sort of

It's naked baby picture time!! Garrett gets all giggly right before bath time so I tried to capture some of his glee. (note: I look kinda rough because it's the end of my mommy day.)

OH!! I forgot - - today Garrett put his paci in his mouth...all by himself. It happened twice so I know it wasn't a fluke.

'Gurggling'

Tired boy...about to go to bed.

Garrett, I think you have a little throw up on your shoulder there, bud.

Today Garrett started 'gurggling'. I couldn't believe it. Each day he starts to 'talk' more!! He's also discovered water. When he takes a bath, I will hold the washcloth over his head and let the water fall on his tummy. He looks up at it in awe. Erik is sure this means he will love the water as much as he does. I can't wait for Erik to see all these neat things Garrett does.

Happy 4 months!

Garrett is 4 months old today! 

Bath time fun!! He was in the middle of a laugh here. For some reason he gets the giggles when I take off his clothes, especially at bath time. He's such a funny guy.

Our rainy Tuesday

It's raining, so we had a little photo shoot with Garrett and his Bumbo (thanks, Aunt Amanda!).

*Erik got to hear Garrett "talk" for the first time today. Usually Garrett just listens when I put the phone up to him but today he was very vocal and giggly. He's such a happy boy!
