Crafty

Our tiny table with the placemats and napkins I made this week! I'm so proud of me! I've made a few things for others but this is the first for our home. My next idea is for curtains in Garrett's room.

I put a swirly green on the opposite side...to go with my cream colored dishes.

Garrett is a daredevil! If he can climb on top of it, he will. He loves to push the ottoman behind the couch, climb on the top of the couch and then roll/climb down the other side. He's such a boy! :) (I love it!!!)

Lend me an ear...

We grilled out last night and Erik had thrown in some ears of corn. Garrett stole Erik's corn and chowed down. I don't have an 'after' picture but he ate every last kernel.

Ravioli Madness

Erik bought Garrett some ravioli for lunch today. Obviously he enjoyed it but I think he liked playing in it more than eating it. He smeared the ravioli and sauce in his hair!! I couldn't believe it. He's such a ham, too. As soon as I pulled out the camera, he started posing and smiling for the camera.

I will add that he immediately had a bath after our impromptu photo shoot. (Which he didn't like) Now he's all clean and watching an afternoon episode of Curious George...all is well again! :) Have a great Saturday!

I think I was Garrett's age when my mom (Nana Sue) first brought me to the beach (the same shoreline if I'm not mistaken). The tradition is carried on.

Goodness, it's been a wild month. With my grandmother's illness and ultimate passing, we have been on the road quite a bit. As stated before, I believe Garrett and I logged more than 57 hours in the car in a week's time. Not too fun, but it was a means to a greater end. We were able to spend time with family we hadn't seen in years. I'm thankful for our time in NM and TX. We also had a few firsts, one of which was Garrett's first time in the ocean. It was an incredible experience. To see the joy and excitement on his face was priceless.

Just tonight, Erik and I were 'farewelled' from our BN. Being with the 94th has been THE most amazing experience. We're so thankful to have been a part of the Wolverine Family.

Thanks, everyone! Now we're headed to the ECCC!

Celebrating a life

My beautiful grandmother passed away yesterday surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grand children. I missed her passing by minutes, but on my way to her I was able to tell her how much I loved her and the vast impact she had on my life.

This picture was taken in September 2008 in my aunt's back yard. I was able to capture her mid-laugh. She had a great laugh and an even better smile. And she was one heck of a crossword puzzler. She introduced me to Anne of Green Gables.

I celebrate her life.  I rejoice that she is with our Lord.
