Aye, Aye, Captain!

LTC Leonard, the new CPT Seholm, Garrett and Kristin

Today Erik was 'offically' pinned as Captain! It was a wonderful ceremony and we are so thankful for those who were able to join us.

What a month it's been!

I remember the days when this chair swallowed Garrett b/c he was tiny. And now! He's such a big boy.

And our newest addition - Gunther - who has claimed Garrett's chair as his own.

The beautiful armoire my Dad built for Garrett. It's a lifesaver!!

Erik and Garrett at the Building 429 / Kimber Rising / After Edmund / Above the Golden State Concert in STL. (Garrett is such a rocker baby...can you see his little ear plugs?)

Erik, me, Amanda Wilcox, Brianna Wilcox and Garrett at the concert. Amanda, Brianna and their friend Danielle are a new group, Kimber Rising. They're amazing!!

February has been a wonderful month. Over Valentine's weekend we took a family trip to St. Louis to see Brianna and her sister's new group, Kimber Rising. We also gained another son - a canine son - Gunther. Erik was also promoted to Captain this month. We're so proud of you, honey!!

I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good!

When it's too quiet, we know he's up to something. Case in point, Garrett found the ice cream tub Erik had just thrown away. He's was having a little party of his own.

That's rice on the carpet. Garrett and his 12 foot reach pulled the rice bowl off the table and on to the floor, where he began to feast.

Garrett's first implication - he pulled all 12o some odd diapers out of the diaper stacker. Erik said he was doing a 'lay-out'. If you're military, you know what that is. :)
So Erik's DNA plus mine equals this mischief maker. And we love him for it! He's 100% boy.

Since we've been gone...

I apologize for lack of updates, we've been on the road for the past month. Soon after Erik's return and Christmas, we went to Texas to visit family and take our first cruise!! We also had Garrett dedicated at my mom's church in Texas. I will work on getting all those pictures up.

Welcome Home!!

Waiting for Erik!

The signs welcoming him home. (There was another that said "Erik, You Rock")

The first hug is the best hug!

Father and Son!!

Man and Otto

Wow!!! The Welcome Home ceremony was amazing and we were so lucky to have Doug, Barbara and Amanda with us. Watching the soldiers walk in (especially Erik!) was quite a sight. We're so happy...well, happy doesn't even describe how we feel with Erik home! One of the most memorable moments happened this morning when I asked Garrett "Where's Daddy?" and he looked up and pointed to Erik. Daddy is finally home.

Happy 1st Birthday, Garrett!

Happy Birthday!

A year ago today (with Erik on the phone with me), Garrett was born. Doesn't seem like yesterday? What a blessing this little boy has been to us. We love you, Garrett!

We would also like to wish Barbara and Doug (Erik's parents) a Happy Anniversary!

Back in the MO

3 generations
(We were at Scarlett and Reid Denson's new house for dinner)

Papaw Barkley and his boy

This was a half mad, half smile.

Groves, TX - FLW, MO: 13 hours
Many thanks to Dad for helping Garrett and I get home. It's great to be back in MO...although it's incredibly cold and getting G into his car seat whilst all bundled up is a challenge. :) Our days are filled with playing, unpacking our 6 months in Texas and getting back into our MO life.
